Working with Katarina Johnson-Thompson and England Athletics

Posted 26.11.2019

Tom J was on the road once again supporting some of our clients’ fantastic work, this time travelling to Liverpool to help coordinate media interviews for heptathlete world champion, Katarina Johnson-Thompson during a filming shoot launch with England Athletics’ new programme, funetics.

If you weren’t already aware, funetics has been created by England Athletics to help 4-11-year-old children combat physical illiteracy. funetics will help primary school children across England learn how to run, throw and jump all year round through fun athletics sessions, with England Athletics’ vision being for every primary school aged child in the country to be able to access sessions.

In turn, funetics will give these children the skills to have a healthy and confident future in any sport or activity.

What’s more, Liverpool-based Katarina Johnson-Thompson, who sensationally became World Champion in Doha, Qatar last month (October 2019), is an official funetics ambassador.

On the day of the shoot, Promote coordinated four media interviews in total, two of which focused on Katarina and how her involvement in the programme is inspiring the next generation of athletes.
