Visiting Polar at the London Marathon Expo
There is always a terrific buzz surrounding the London Marathon, and why wouldn’t there be? It’s one of the most iconic marathons in the world, with this year seeing a record total of 386,050 applicants vying for one of the coveted 40,000 starting spaces.
Our client Polar attended the London Marathon Expo to provide essential running advice with their UK Head Coaches Tom Craggs and Nick Anderson, as well as launching their new M430 colourways. The team were on hand to answer any questions attendees might have on the Polar product range, how wearable technology can help improve their running, and the importance of heart rate monitoring.
We were proud to have worked with both Polar and the A21 Paddington Red Watch firefighters team, who were running the London Marathon in full kit to raise money for Grenfell Tower victims. Polar gifted the team nine of the Polar M430s to help them in their running training and enable them to track their progress. Polar also hosted an exclusive training day to demonstrate the various running features the M430s possess to help runners progress in their training.
It was great to see them at the Polar stand at the expo – and even greater to hear that they had smashed their original fundraising target of £70,000 by 135%!
We did feel slightly sheepish that we attended the Expo without actually running in the marathon itself, but who knows – with the ballot now open for 2019 London Marathon maybe we will be attending the Expo as a runner ourselves next year!
