The Good Gym

Posted 24.05.2019

This week, Leandra went to her first group run with her local Good Gym in London – the organisation that helps you get fit by doing good in the community.

Here are some of her highlights:

The session started with a warm welcome from the run leader (Olivia Parker- Scott), with an introduction to the format of the run and  hello to the 13 other runners who had come out to spread the love on a beautiful sunny evening.

We also met Klara who will be the new trainer for Exeter when it launches later this year…watch this space!

After a good warm up led by Kara, we headed out on our short run down to the local church where we met Angela who was ready with tools for weeding and digging in the church grounds.

Once all the tasks were completed, we took another short jog to the park for a fitness session including ‘Squat Squat Goose’ before another 2.5K run back to the meeting point.

The Good Gym is a brilliant concept to get fit and socialise whilst doing your bit to help others – I would highly recommend it and will definitely be returning next week for a new task.

Special thanks to Olivia Parker- Scott for leading such a fantastic group run.
