Meridian Windsor Half Marathon

Posted 26.09.2016

On Sunday Sue, Hayley and Amelia attended the Meridian Windsor Half Marathon to cover all press and social media activity

The event, which was started by Christopher Aitken from the Prince Phillip Trust saw over 4,000 runners take part in the iconic 13.1-mile half marathon route, which offered fantastic views of Saville Garden, the Windsor Polo Fields, the Statue of George III, the Deer Park and the Jubilee Statue of Queen Elizabeth.

Local celeb, Chris Evans and his Radio 2 Breakfast Show Yawn Patrol even took part, raising money for their chosen charity, BBC Children in Need.

From advanced runners, to fancy dress wearers everyone crossed the line with a smile on their face, especially, Kojo Kyereme, 41, from Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers – who completed the course in a fantastic time of 1 hour, 7 minutes and 6 seconds, taking home first place.

The rain held off, families gathered together to support loved ones and of course thousands of runners got active  – all in all a successful event.
