Last night saw Hayley and Amelia head into Central London for a night out celebrating all things women, sport, and books.

The team visited the Old Crown Pub in Holborn for the launch of the brilliant new book, Kicking Off: How women in sport are changing the game, written by sports journalist and friend of Promote, Sarah Shephard.

Sarah, who is the current Features Editor for Sport Magazine, has interviewed cover stars including Jessica Ennis-Hill, Serena Williams, Usain Bolt, Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Sir Bradley Wiggins during her career.

The book contains interviews several elite sports women including Chrissie Wellington and Maggie Alphonsi among others, examining key questions including: Why do the most successful female athletes earn less than their male counterparts? Why do so few elite sportswomen have the profile their talent deserves? And why are girls still growing up believing that sport is ‘for boys’?

The team had a great evening celebrating with Sarah, her friends and family and even managed to do a bit of sports celeb spotting, catching a glimpse of Chelsea and England Women’s footballer Eniola Aluko!

If you fancy a great insight into women’s sport, we’d highly recommend Kicking Off – order your copy today!
