Essential Summer Listening - The Game Changers' Podcast: Fearless Women in Sport

Posted 25.07.2019

With the backdrop of an incredible array of major sporting events taking the world by storm this summer, a new podcast, The Game Changers, provides ideal listening for anyone with a passion for sport.

If you were one of the 11.7 million tuning in to watch the England Lionesses’s semi-final in the FIFA Women’s World Cup; you were thrilled by the England Roses’ bronze in the Netball World Cup or you loved watching 15-year-old Coco Gauff at Wimbledon – then you’ll recognise women’s sport is getting profile like never before.

The Game Changers podcast shares insightful, inspiring interviews with trailblazing women in sport, with the highly acclaimed first series of eight episodes already ranked as number one on Apple’s ‘New and Noteworthy’ sports podcasts.

Created and hosted by Sue Anstiss MBE, guests include:

  • Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson – 11 times Paralympic Champion
  • Chrissie Wellington OBE – four times Ironman World Champion
  • Sally Munday OBE – CEO at England and GB Hockey and new CEO at UK Sport
  • Maggie Alphonsi MBE – Rugby World Cup winner
  • Kate Richardson-Walsh OBE – Olympic Hockey Gold Medallist
  • Jo Bostock MBE – Co-founder and CEO Women’s Sport Trust
  • Pamela Cookey – former England Netball captain
  • Dame Katherine Grainger – Olympic rower turned Chair of UK Sport

The high-profile guests talk frankly in each episode about their careers, what drives them, how they’ve dealt with their toughest challenges and their aspirations for the future.

The Game Changers host, Sue Anstiss MBE, is CEO of sports PR agency Promote and a trustee at the Women’s Sport Trust. Passionate about the power of women’s sport to knock down barriers and challenge the status quo, in 2018 Sue was awarded an MBE for her services to grassroots and women’s sport.

The Game Changers is available for free download across all usual channels including iTunes, Spotify, TuneIn and Libsyn. You can listen and find out more about all the guests at:
