2019 HITZ Awards: Premiership Rugby celebrates impact of rugby on education

Posted 28.10.2019

Tom and Tom had the pleasure of attending the Premiership Rugby 2019 HITZ Awards to celebrate the hard work put in by countless individuals up and down the country towards the renowned sport-for-development programme.

With the likes of past and present Gallagher Premiership Rugby stars such as Ugo Monye, Harry Mallinder, Phil Dollman and World Cup winner, Tamara Taylor in attendance, Promote were responsible for inviting and liaising with high-profile media to interview HITZ awards attendees including The Times’ Education Supplement, Daily Mail, NewsChain, GiveMeSport and CNN World Sport.

Five outstanding individuals were rewarded amongst different categories during the evening but additionally, the 2019 HITZ Awards also saw past HITZ participants attend as the programme entered its second decade of success. The first ten years saw more than 15,000 learners engage with the programme with 81% progressing on to education, training or employment since the inception of the HITZ Learning Academy.

The HITZ programme plays a central role in Premiership Rugby’s ‘Plan To Improve A Million Lives’ and we congratulate all those who were shortlisted for this year’s Awards.

Keep up to date with all the action at @HITZRugby and use #HITZAwards and #ImproveAMillionLives.
