Promote PR, a public relations agency that specialises in the sports and fitness industry, scooped an impressive three awards on Friday at the Regional CIPR PRide Awards.
It was the first time that the agency had been nominated for the awards, so the team of 11 were understandably delighted to win in every category entered.
The first award won was ‘Best Not-for-Profit’ for the campaign they delivered to raise national media profile for the incredible Claire Lomas, who walked the Virgin London Marathon this year in a ‘bionic suit’. The second award was for ‘Best Sporting Campaign’ for the activity to drive grassroots participation in hockey around London 2012, and their final award of the night went to the agency’s Senior Account Manager, Nicki Petitt, who won Outstanding Young Communicator of the Year 2012.
Commenting on the special night for the agency, Promote’s founder and Managing Director, Sue Anstiss, said: “I am unbelievably proud of my magnificent team this evening – it’s wonderful to see them recognised for all their passion and hard work. This is the first time in our 19 year history that we’ve entered any awards ourselves. It’s been such a fabulous experience - we’ll definitely be entering more in 2013!”
The team had extra reason to celebrate at the Awards Dinner when the agency’s newest recruit, GB Hockey Captain Kate Walsh, was invited on stage to present some of the awards. In addition, Kate spoke about her experience leading the team to bronze medal at London 2012 having returned to the pitch just a few days after having her jaw fractured in the opening match.
Kate Walsh commented: “I am so grateful to Promote PR for providing me with the opportunity to start a career in sports PR, whilst still enabling me to train every day with the squad at the national hockey centre at Bisham Abbey. I thoroughly enjoying working in sports PR - and it’s great to be doing it at a ‘multi-award winning’ agency!”

About the CIPR PRide Awards
The CIPR PRide Awards is the only UK wide awards scheme that recognises excellence in public relations and communications work across Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the English regions. Now in its 9th year the CIPR PRide Awards grow year-on-year as consultancies and organisations increasingly recognise the benefits of industry awards, and past winners continue to reap the benefits of receiving one.
Alongside CIPR Scotland, CIPR Wales/Cymru and CIPR Northern Ireland, taking part in the 2012 CIPR PRide Awards are East Anglia; Home Counties South; Midlands; North East; North West; Thames and Chiltern; West of England; Wessex and Channel Islands: and Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
