Naturally, media relations and understanding media behaviour is part of our core service, as is providing consultancy to our clients and contacts on how best to engage journalists. Many of the Promote team have worked in-house for newspapers and other publications before working in PR, furthermore we are in daily contact with individual journalists. Drawing on this experience, Promote has developed and offers a practical one-day 'media training' session.
The day aims to educate attendees, as well as build their confidence when talking to or being interviewed by the media.
Our media training session covers the following areas:
Media experiences to date - good and bad
Preparation for media engagement
Body language and face-to-face contact
Successfully communicating your key media messages
Achieving your media interview goals
Common misconceptions and pitfalls
Media interviewing techniques
Talking to the media in a crisis
Building a positive, long term relationship with the media
