Catherine's windy Wiltshire half marathon
As we all know it was a wet and windy Sunday… so what better way to spend the day than run 13.1 miles?! Well, that’s what Catherine decided to do when she took part in the AVR Half Marathon back in her home county of Wiltshire.
Setting off into the blustery winds and heavy rain there might have been a shred of doubt in Catherine's mind, but hearing the upbeat Christmas music (slightly early don’t you think) and her parents shouting support spurred her on.
Runners were well marshalled along picturesque winding country roads and treated to cheers from locals when passing through four charming villages. The relationship between racers was also brilliant with the majority wanting a little chat on route.
Ending with a sprint finish, Catherine crossed the line in a time of 1 hour 52 minutes. Not a PB but she was still pleased considering the challenging conditions!
