TeamUp festival of sport
Last Friday, over 100 schoolgirls from East London took part in a festival of sport, organised by TeamUp Ambassador and PE Subject Leader at Curwen Primary School, Carly Tully.
The schoolgirls were joined by Olympic gold medallist Helen Richardson-Walsh and Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Emily Defroand.
The festival of sport gave the girls a chance to play each of the TeamUp sports – hockey, cricket and netball – as well as tennis. Each station gave the girls a non-competitive taster of each sport, to encourage participation in a fun, relaxed environment and introduce them to a sport they might not have played before.
The event was filmed by Sky Sports and will make up the basis of a TeamUp-specific Sky Game Changers show which will be aired on TV this Friday 4 May on Sky Sports Mix.
