Scarlett has been psyching herself up the last few weeks as she prepared for her first ever running event, the Tatton Park Race for Life. Plonk her on a football pitch and she'll happily run around for 90minutes, but when there's no ball involved it?s a different matter.
Scarlett decided to enter Race for Life to give her something to aim for in her training but also it's for an incredible cause that sadly nearly everybody has been affected by.
When she signed up she had never run further than 5k (without chasing a ball!) so as her training built up it felt like such an achievement to reach the full 10k.
Scarlett says, As the race got underway it was incredibly inspiring to see the hundreds of reasons why people were running pinned to the back of their shirts, it certainly gave you a reason to keep going.?
'I enjoyed the race a hundred times more than any of my training runs and can't wait to sign up for the next one! It was an added bonus that I beat my personal best with a time of 55:23.?
Bring on the next 10k!
