21 people to thank as we turn 21
As we celebrate 21 years in business this week, we’d like to say a special ‘thank you’ to 21 key people who have helped us get to where we are today:
The early clients and mentors…
Patrick gave us a big break when he appointed us to deliver PR for his rapidly expanding Esporta Health Club chain in the 90's. He later invested in the agency and became a non-exec Director.
Sue's former boss at advertising agency Y&R and MDI became the mentor that helped get her started in the early days of Promote.
As the head of the Fitness Industry Association, Bob was huge supporter of Promote in 1994 when the FIA and BUPA Commit to Get Fit campaign were our first clients.
The founder and owner of 220 Triathlon Magazine, John was one of the agency's first clients.
Dr Bob Murray, Lori Theisen and Steve Gregg
Gatorade and GSSI were very, very important clients for the agency for many years and these three people were, and remain, valued friends of Promote
Helping us to grow and shape the agency, we’re so grateful to Barry for his direction and support.
Some star employees (recognising all the Promote team are stars of course!)
Formerly Karen Wray, Sue's now sister-in-law played a huge part in helping to establish the agency in the 90's.
Lindsey Nash Simpson
A big force at Promote when we were a much smaller agency, Lindsey played a significant part in establishing our reputation in the fitness industry
An essential member of the Promote team for over 14 years (and recently awarded an MBE for her services to grassroots sport!).
Katie Lewis (nee Start)
Making a massive contribution in her 12 years at Promote.
Our very long term clients and agency friends
A very long term client at DC Leisure / Places for People Leisure, and undoubtedly one of the nicest men in the fitness industry.
We've loved working with Liz in her 21 years at Life Fitness.
A great client for Promote on many occasions (at the FIA, SIBEC, Lifetime Training) and always good friend to the agency.
An important Promote client for many years from early days with Forza Fitness to Fitness First and Lifetime Training.
Former client with Forza Fitness and Matrix and good friend to the agency.
Long term supporter of the agency from his very early days in the industry at Harpers through to his current role as ukactive CEO.
A superb client for us at England Hockey, Holly went on to refer lots of sporting NGBs our way. We're now proud to be working with her again at Tumuv.
Leisure media folk - Liz Terry, Catherine Larner, Kate Cracknell etc
Our strong relationships with media are essential to the work we do every day, but special thanks must go to the team at the Leisure Media Company whose publications have been so important for our clients in the last 21 years.
Behind every successful woman... is an incredibly supportive man. Final thanks go to Sue's husband for enabling her to grow the business over the past 21 years.
