Happy days at Promote as we’ve just been appointed by the RFU
(Rugby Football Union) to drive grassroots participation for the women’s game. Since 2004, female participation in Rugby Union has increased 100% with more than 17,600 females now playing contact rugby in England and profile dramatically increased after England’s magnificent World Cup victory last year. England Rugby hope to attract 100,000 women into the sport by 2017.
With the recent excitement of the Six Nations, the men’s World Cup in September and rugby featuring in the Olympics for the first time next year, we can’t think of a more exciting time to be working with the RFU and raising the profile of the women’s game.
We’ll be raising profile for ‘Pitch Up and Play’, an initiative which launches in April to encourage women of all ages and abilities into the game through fun, informal sessions with an introduction to tackling.
We’re thrilled to be working with the RFU have successfully delivered communications campaigns to drive grassroots participation for a number of NGBs in recent years including England Hockey, Volleyball England, British Rowing, the RFL, Rounders England, British Shooting and Canoe England.
