Runners share marathon buzz

Runners share marathon buzz - Promote PR News

Families, colleagues, fundraisers and seasoned athletes laced up their trainers yesterday to take part in Purple Patch's 26.2 Team Challenge. From club runners looking to share that marathon feeling, to charity runners donning quirky fancy dress costumes, there was abundant enthusiasm for the Maidenhead relay race in - and it did not disappoint!

Braywick Park was blessed with sunshine and the athletic track start line was alive with energy. First the children took to the track for the junior races, with tremendous roars from spectators. Delighted with their finishers’ medals, the juniors left the track to make way for the adults.

More than 300 adults took it in turns to run their allocated 2.62 mile lap, with some individuals completing two or three laps in total. We were bowled over by the team spirit and dedication - the sight of runners, young and old, competing together was truly inspiring.
