Our first official day at IHRSA got off to a flying start with a productive breakfast meeting at the Hard Rock Hotel with our lovely Life Fitness client Liz Chessum. We loved the whole rock and roll vibe at the hotel and it was great to see a giant Life Fitness banner had been draped down the front of the building for all of downtown San Diego to see.
We then headed over to the enormous glass-fronted convention centre to attend the first of the Education Sessions. Best selling author and brand guru Sally Hogshead delivered an impressive keynote session entitled ‘How to Fascinate: From First Impressions to Lasting Value’. It provided an intriguing insight into people’s primary, secondary and dormant personality traits to find out how we can ‘fascinate’ effectively. After completing a short online questionnaire to identify our fascination strengths Katie discovered she was a Guardian while I was identified as a Royal Guard. We thought it was such a useful tool that we’ve now invited the rest of the Promote team and can’t wait to find out who’s a ‘Wise Owl’, ‘The Mastermind’ or ‘The Rockstar’!
We followed this session with an excellent presentation from Arron Williams, Special Projects Manager at Life Fitness about how to remain relevant in a trending industry. Having travelled extensively and observed world trends in best practice, Arron was able to share his views on how the industry is exploring exciting new ways to offset member attrition and how people can enhance with health and well being through digital technology.
