We came, we tri-ed, we conquered!

Leandra, Tom and Emma headed down to the Triathlon Show last Friday to tri out all things triathlon, and to visit our lovely clients British Triathlon and Meridian Foods who were both exhibiting over the course of the weekend.

British Triathlon have recently announced their partnership with Sport Relief to promote GO TRI and to encourage the nation to get active and to fundraise for Sport Relief, with a GO TRI Gym Challenge. The GO TRI Gym Challenge is a timed test to complete a 500m row, 7.5km static bike ride and 1.5km run in the fastest time possible.

Therefore, British Triathlon had a large interactive stand where consumers at the show could come challenge themselves to a condensed version of the GO TRI Gym Challenge. We couldn’t resist and soon there was a Promote battle as we raced against each other to get the fastest time in the 200m row, 500m indoor cycle and 200m run. Emma is still slightly bitter that Tom beat her and came first by one second!

If you want to try out the full gym challenge for yourself, then complete the 500m row, 7.5km bike and 1.5km run then visit here to enter your times online. You will then be able to see how you rank against our elites, celebrities and other GO TRIERS. Sport Relief Week is 17th – 23rd March, so we encourage you to take on the challenge and fundraise before then!

After taking on the GO TRI challenge, the team needed to refuel so naturally we headed straight over to the Meridian stand where we were greeted by delicious Peanut Butter & Banana Smoothie samples. Exactly what we needed! And it seemed we weren’t the only ones, there was a steady stream of people sampling the full range of nut butters and bars and asking the Meridian team how the nutritional benefits of nuts can help them within their training.

We weren’t let off lightly and soon Hatty, Meridian Brand Manager, had us doing the Meridian Watt Bike challenge to see who could power the most watts during a six second sprint. This time it was Leandra who shone and pedalled to the max!

Overall, we had a great day and we were impressed by the quality of the exhibitors (we're not biased we promise!) and the speaker line up (including Chris Hoy, Karri-Anne Payne and Mark Foster.
