Our team at the Active Training Workshop & Awards

On Thursday 26th November, Sue and Alison attended this year’s Active Training Workshop and Awards where leading employers, training providers, awarding organisations, educational institutions gathered to discuss workforce development in the sector.

Tara Dillion, CEO of CIMSPA, kicked off an afternoon of stimulating panel discussions by providing an overview of actions taken in the sector over the last 12 months and next steps for a unified strategy for skills and development requirements. It was also an opportunity to hear about CIMSPA’s long-term plan to establish the basis of a Chartered Physical Activity Professional as well as their Employer Partner Scheme, giving sector employers the chance to invest directly in the overall workforce development project.

The evening marked a fantastic celebration of exceptional performance in training and development in the physical activity sector. Joining our clients Active IQ, Premier, Life Fitness and Places for People, the awards ceremony was again expertly hosted by a hugely entertaining, but increasingly hoarse Tara Dillion, who was joined on stage by co-hosts Steven Ward, Executive Director of ukactive and Jenny Patrickson, Managing Director of Active IQ, sponsors of the event. Our congratulations went to all the finalists on the night but for us it was Richard Latham from Places for People who stole the show by winning ‘Most Inspiring Physical Activity Professional’!
